Research for our Teaser Components

Soundtrack research: We have been thinking about whether we need to include a soundtrack to our teaser trailer. Quite alot of the short teaser trailers do not use a soundtrack and just use dialogue and sound effects. We would like to include a soundtrack with a fast pace that makes the quick shots we are using look more effective. Costume and location research: Costumes in pyshcological horror are normally casual and everyday, in some cases they are very casual and are pyjamas. For our teaser trailer we will most likely follow this idea and use casual clothes as our characters are teenagers. They are going out filming in the winter so will most likely be wrapping up warm. For the location most horror genres are filmed in the middle of nowhere outside in the woods or in a lone house. The location and setting is normally a key element that helps create the sense of fear. After researching locations that are normally used in pyschological horror we have decided to film ours in a field nearby my house, another reason we have chosen this location is because the plot of our teaser trailer which will be filmed outside. We may also film some footage inside a house. Actors and props photos research: Psychological horror's normally include a stereotypical blonde that gets into trouble and her friends normally are killed off too. For example in Scream Drew Barrymore is this stereotypical blonde character that gets killed. She is also well known and a wide audience will watch films with well known actors in them. Our characters and actors include a blonde girl, a boy who is helping acting in there filming and the boy who is filming this, the actors will be me, Lewis who is in my group and our friend Chris. Props normally include weapons and objects that are used as weapons. These are normally emphasised and focused on which makes the audience uneasy. In our teaser trailer teh only prop we will be using is the camera which is being used to film our teaser trailer. Teaser Trailer Analysis Research: I have analysed afew teaser trailers of different genres and then some more of the genre we have chosen. After researching the components of a teaser trailer and what is needed it has given Lewis and I an idea of what we would like to include in our teaser trailer, it has also given us an idea of what not to show and what not to include.
